If you are looking for a role, where you can develop your end-to-end data management expertise and apply your technical knowledge then this is the role for you! This role can be performed at either of our head office sites in Leeds or Bradford.

About the role

An opportunity has arisen to join the Data & Regulatory Reporting team in the Balance Sheet Control department for an expert Data Management Lead. You need to consider the available data documentation, data quality and data sourcing whilst also reviewing the existing control framework. Initially, the focus of the role will be on standardised capital reporting and modelling processes to shape the deliverables and provide guidance on the target operating model for the project implementation.

As a Data Management Lead, you'll work collaboratively with teams across Balance Sheet Control, and the wider group, to drive improvements to, and document, the departments data and process landscape and existing control framework. This role would ideally suit someone with a strong data provisioning knowledge and understanding of a risk control framework who is looking to build their awareness of how data is used within balance sheet control.

In this role you'll digest changes to the regulatory landscape and articulate what they mean for YBS, with a focus on the principles of BCBS239. In addition, to highlighting where automation could occur in processes, you will develop an agreed direction of travel for an appropriate risk and control framework for capital and funding data.

You'll work closely with the Senior Manager to shape a new Data Management project and subsequent BAU data management requirements for Balance Sheet Control.

About you

You'll need to be delivery focused, have expert technical knowledge of data management and control processes alongside experience in data management tools such as SAS. In addition strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail is a must.

In addition to this you will have knowledge and awareness of at least one of the following: Mortgage Data, Savings Data, Market Data, Liquidity Data, Capital Data. You should possess SME knowledge of data management practices, preferably at a category 1 firm

Ability to convert strategic priorities and goals into operational plans and excellent self-management skills would be an advantage.

It's a leadership role, so some experience of managing a team would be great but its not essential as we can support you with that. You will, however, need to be passionate about delivering change and leading a team.
