Job description

Data Analyst - Finance Platform (Tax Feature Team) - LBG RETURNERS
Salary: £56,421-£62,690
Grade: E

Job Summary:

At Lloyds Banking Group, we are driven by a clear purpose - to Help Britain prosper. We focus on making a difference to our customers, businesses and communities as the UK's largest Retail, Digital and Commercial bank.

The following vacancy has become available for Returners. You're eligible to apply for this role if you have taken a career break for at least 18 months so please do not apply if this does not apply to you.

Our very friendly Tax Change team in the Finance Platform is looking for a Data Analyst to join them to work within a team that delivers all technical and process changes required for Group Tax.

Your role would involve working with our Business Analysts and our market leading external supplier, supporting the complex data analysis required to facilitate Making Tax Digital changes (government mandated digitisation of tax recording and reporting within all UK businesses).

We're an enduring team who moves from project to project together (we don’t disband the team at the end of projects) so we get to know each other well. We also have another couple of new joiners so you would be starting in the team at the same time as others.

We work in a hybrid Waterfall/Agile environment to try to make use of Agile ways of working wherever possible.

What we'd love you to have experience-wise

  • Data analysis experience
  • Experience in SQL scripts
  • Experience in data & problem visualisation Via Power BI

What you'll be doing

  • Developing high quality analysis and solutions, ingesting data from multiple different sources to build Lloyds Banking Group’s complex VAT solution
  • Providing critical customer & transaction data expertise to help shape the approach to solving the problem and supplying new/existing datasets into problem solving solutions.
  • Building Data Quality Dashboards and visualising issues & solutions through Power BI

About you

Someone who is passionate about both data/analytics with an interest in solving problems through data and translating data into analytics based opportunities to solve problems

We need a proactive individual, as we work closely in a team who trust and support each other to deliver without being micro-managed

Good communication is key as you'll be working with both internal and external development teams & business teams, some of whom are technical and some of who are not

What we’d be keen to see in your work style

  • A growth mindset, open to learning from other team members
  • Willing to share knowledge with other team members and help to upskill them
  • Open to working within Scrum/Agile (no experience necessary)
  • Passionate about driving an inclusive working environment
  • Able to listen, reflect and respect the views of others as well as being able to communicate your own opinion

Why Return to a career with LBG?

We offer a permanent role in a supportive working environment from day one. Since launch, we have successfully hired people into technical and leadership roles.

We welcome our Returners into teams committed to help you reimagine your career and rebuild your workplace expertise. We'll provide ongoing support from your line manager and your team; you’ll benefit from being part of the wider Returners Community where you can meet other colleagues like yourself, and you’ll have access to Returners Hub that will help you plan your learning and build a personal development plan that works for you.

Together we'll make it possible.

About working at LBG

We have embraced hybrid working and flex between working from home and the central Bristol office hub. And while we cannot accommodate every flexible working request, we’re happy to have a conversation about what hours might work for you - including reduced hours.

We also have the scale to provide you with ongoing opportunities to develop and achieve a rewarding and fulfilling career.

Every successful Returner will join with a permanent contract and access to wide ranging benefits scheme including:

  • A competitive salary
  • A performance related annual bonus
  • Generous pension contribution of up to 15%
  • 30 days holiday plus the bank holidays on top
  • Private health cover
  • Various share schemes, including free shares

We're also passionate about diversity and equal opportunity with industry recognition across gender, ethnicity, disability, LGBTQ+ and families. This includes making reasonable adjustments in our Recruitment process where appropriate.
