Envelop Risk Analytics is a leading reinsurance agency based in Bristol, UK. They focus is on providing innovative, data-driven solutions to the reinsurance industry. By utilising advanced machine learning models, cutting-edge technology, and industry expertise, they transform raw data into actionable insights for their clients. The position for a Senior Data analyst will work closely with the key internal stakeholders within Envelop Risk.

The Role:

We're currently seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst / Senior Data Scientist to join the Envelop Team and play a critical role in the ongoing development and operationalisation of the analytical function.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Data Exploration and Analysis: Conduct in-depth statistical analysis on diverse and extensive data sets to extract valuable insights.
• Data Quality Assurance: Validate data and provide recommendations to enhance data quality and maintain data integrity.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Data Preparation: Create high-performance aggregated data sets to support reporting and ongoing analytics efforts.
• Dashboard Development: Design and maintain impactful Tableau dashboards to facilitate informed business decision-making.
• Self-Service Analytics: Contribute to the adoption and governance of self-serve analytics initiatives within the organisation.
• Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continual improvement within the team by proposing and implementing recommendations.
• Project Ownership: Lead and manage analytics projects from requirements gathering to launch, following Agile best practices.
• Mentorship: Coach and mentor junior team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Data Advocacy: Actively promote data literacy throughout the organisation to improve data-driven decision-making.
• Data Governance: Establish and maintain robust data quality and governance processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation for analytical products and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and consistency.

The ideal candidate skill set:

• A Bachelor's degree in Maths, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst / Scientist.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Strong skills in SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience with data visualisation tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
