Data Engineer (AWS/Python)MedTechGBP80,000 DOE Cambridge (twice per week in the office)Shares, Flexible hours, Collaborative culture, Training budgetWant to help a startup discover new ways to treat diseases and manage healthcare?This Healthcare Start-up needs a Data Engineer with significant experience in building ETL data pipelines, Python and AWS.You'll be working alongside the CEO who has a rich history in the Healthcare industry.You'll be pivotal in curating data ensuring the highest quality of delivery to their customers, both improving and upgrading the dataset on the platform.You can expect a salary of up to GBP80,000, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, Shares, flexible working hours, hybrid remote working and more.The CompanyUsing technology to understand both individual and population healthcare, the company created a Data Analytics platform that integrates real-world health and genomic data.Their mission is simple Use their platform to make massive leaps in both drug development and healthcare.They have already created multi-platforms and have secured contracts in the UK/US Healthcare spaces, so are currently scaling their tech team.What makes this job specialTheir team is a mixture of data engineering and data science individuals, so expect your work to have a clear impact on the business, as we work closely with our product team.You'd be joining the business where your input will help shape the future of healthcare.You will have autonomy, impact on decision making, and large scope for personal progression.Responsibilities
  • Design solutions, build, develop and deliver completed functionality to production
  • Design & implementation of the task scheduling (Airflow), distributed computation system (Python, Celery, EMR) and data lakes / data warehouses (S3, PostgreSQL)
  • Implement data integration and ETL processes, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security
  • Build and maintain data warehouses, data lakes, and other storage solutions, utilizing cloud-based technologies (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern data architecture patterns
Essential
  • Experience as a Data Engineer or a similar role, preferably in the healthcare or life sciences space
  • Expertise in designing and implementing scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, with experience in using frameworks like Apache Spark or Hadoop
