Data Analyst Initial 6 months. Outside IR35 Rate: Flexible dependant on experience. Hybrid: Required onsite in Bristol office Monday and Thursdays, every week. Job role and where it fits within the business. The Vehicle Certification Agency provides expert testing and certification services to a wide range of automotive makers. This job role sits within Digital Services and Technology in the Vehicle Certification Agency. The data analyst role collects, organises and studies data to provide business insight. This role reports into the: E-volve Transformation Project Manager, Data and Reporting and the project will set up Power BI, a Strategic Reporting Platform and a new Azure data lake to manage VCA data effectively and to create business critical reports. Main Duties: identify, collect and migrate data to and from a range of systems. manage, clean, abstract and aggregate data alongside a range of analytical studies on that data. manipulate and link different data sets. apply tools and techniques for data analysis and data visualisation (including the use of business information tools) summarise and present data and conclusions in the most appropriate format for usersEssential Criteria: Extensive experience of Microsoft Power Platform and Azure, including in set-up phase Extensive experience of data cleansing, processing and transfer. Ability to communicate well across all levels of an organisation and improve cross collaboration and partnering Structured approach to working that will instil confidence in members of the organisation who are experiencing digital transformation Working with digital, agile methodologies Technical Skills and Frameworks The skills required for this role are: Analysis and synthesis. You can reverse-engineer a data model from a live system. You can understand industry-recognised data-modelling patterns and standards. (Skill level: working) Data quality assurance, validation and linkage. You can identify appropriate ways to collect, collate and prepare data. You can decide if data is accurate and fit for purpose. You can prepare and cleanse data with limited guidance. (Skill level: working) Data visualisation. You can use the most appropriate medium to visualise data to tell compelling stories that are relevant to business goals and can be acted upon. You can present, communicate and disseminate data appropriately and with influence. (Skill level: working) IT and mathematics. You can apply your knowledge and experience of IT and mathematical skills, including tools and techniques. You can adopt those most appropriate for the environment. (Skill level: working) Logical and creative thinking. You can respond to problems in databases, data processes, data products and services as they occur.
