We are currently seeking a Data Engineer (focus Cloud Engineering) (m f d) for our Data Strategy & Management business unit department, based at our headquarters in Goettingen or Berlin, Germany (Sartorius Corporate Administration). There is an opportunity to work remotely on a regular basis. In this position, you will contribute to build modern cloud and data solutions for our business and data science departments within Sartorius globally. In this position, you will contribute to build modern cloud and data solutions for our business and data science departments within Sartorius globally. The team currently consits of 5 members.

What you will accomplish together with us

• You will help to build a data platform in the Azure cloud for advanced analytics. You will implement and automate data infrastructure and services
  

• You will identify and implement the optimal data services to meet business requirements and work with our Data Scientists to create state-of-the-art AI solutions
  

• You will design, build, and deploy automatic data pipelines for small and large-scale data processing for analytics use cases
  

• With DevOps principles like CICD and IaC you will optimize and automate and speed up the creation of cloud services and data products
  

• You provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to development teams to build data competencies
  

• You actively contribute to our Data Community
  

What will convince us

• University degree in computer science, mathematics, physics or related courses
  

• Experience in designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions
  

• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and infrastructure, DevOps, data lake management, ETL/ELT processes
  

• Good knowledge of services and frameworks like Azure DevOps, Terraform, Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks, Apache Spark or similar technologies
  

• Proven ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of business analysts, cloud engineers and data scientists
  

• Experience in several of the following areas are a plus: software development, cloud engineering, big data
  

• High analytical skills, self-responsible, quality-oriented way of working, professional demeanor, strong teamwork and communication and excellent presentation skills
  

• Fluent (business) English skills, knowledge of German is a plus
