Business Intelligence Developer (Electronic Health Records used to advance Clinical Trials and Drug Development) Basic Salary GBP45-50k Home and Office based work arrangement with flexible office hours. Solution The data held within Electronic Health records is analysed and interpreted by software and that is subsequently used as a service that advances drug development. The data is used to direct research and deliver tangible benefits to research-based companies - BIG PHARMA developing new pharmaceutical products / drugs. The solutions affords clinical customers a real time live searchable database that provides a wealth of information to assist companies developing pioneering lifesaving drugs and devices cutting development time, saving money, and impacting the health of millions globally. Their technology connects electronic health records (EHRs) across primary and secondary care, and enables rapid patient recruitment, reduces clinical trial development time and costs. It also increases responsiveness to patient safety through near real-time monitoring. This technology could be applied to any established health economy across the globe. This has the potential to change the way that clinical trials are conducted in the future by ensuring drugs get to market faster and therefore improving patient outcomes. Job Role To design, develop and deliver BI solutions through end-to-end engagement with Business Stakeholders, Technical and Project Delivery teams. You will help to scope, design, and build new capabilities as we deploy and enhance core applications and implement a new central data resource for the organisation. A commitment to transparency and improving user experience will be at the core of the approach to collaborative working. Focusing on Power BI platform, you will be responsible for delivering operational dashboards, monthly summary analyses, as well as project specific data output based on business requirements. Act as SME for data integration, transformation and visualisation across the organisation, help develop perspective to all interactions and problem-solving activities. User experience and maximising value from data will be at the core of all activity undertaken. As part of a new function in a growing business, this role is likely to evolve over time and this individual will contribute to plans to best serve the organisation against a background of change. A key element of this will be supporting and informing the data & analytics roadmap. Key Accountabilities: Manage BI platforms, data feeds and data views to ensure business needs and expectations are met Work with IT infrastructure to develop and make recommendations regarding the development, maintenance, and expansion of a Data Warehouse Participate and contribute to business projects as data subject matter expert and collaborate effectively within teams, working towards project outcomes and objectives Engage with end-users to capture and action feedback in a structured way to continually improve solutions and identify opportunities to create new value Translate business requests into technical requirements, presenting to management and functional stakeholders Data security and integrity to be a part of any proposed scope and design advise and consult on concerns and potential risks Responsibilities: Data Extraction, Transformation, Storage and Delivery in line with, IT policy, security, and data governance requirements Develop and maintain data feeds from core business applications; manage on-demand, scheduled and ad-hoc requests for business information and analysis Maintain awareness of business process and policy changes which could impact BI output Provide business support as SME across strategic activities, or ad-hoc projects and meetings Feedback into Business Operations function to continually improve business effectiveness, advise of risk or concerns around data management and security Produce and contribute to business cases for development and investment in business systems and processes Person Specification: Data literate, analytical and focused individual with good business awareness and a passion for solving problems Ability to work to deadlines across multiple workstreams and contribute to project documentation and progress updates as required Understand business processes and implications of change on the wider business Strong communicator who can work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand requirements and translate into actionable output. Be able to influence and guide delivery plans based on expertise and business acumen Passionate about data-driven digital transformation; able to lower technical barriers - engage and educate a wide range of colleagues in the benefits and opportunities of new data solutions Essential skills: 4 years of recent experience working as a BI Developer 2 years of experience developing reports and dashboards using PowerBI Experience with Data Warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modelling), with an in-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL framework Experience in writing advanced t-SQL statements including features like Temporary Tables, Ranking Functions, Joins, CTE, etc. Experience with SQL Server 2018 and above; database performance tuning including T-SQL query optimization Experience with software development methodologies such as AGILE, DevOps etc. Experienced with Version Control (e.g. Redgate) Desirable skills: MS Dynamics Power Platform Hubspot CRM JIRA Benefits: Competitive Salary 27 days annual leave Flexible working hours The ability to work from home Modern offices in Central Manchester Positive and supportive environment Access to training resources Exposure to different industries Access to collaborative workspace Stakeholder pension
