Data is a game-changer when it comes to protecting the UK. That’s why Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) is innovating and developing exciting new capabilities. As our Data Capability Assurance Manager, you’ll make sure we meet our legal and ethical responsibilities, upholding the highest standards. Help us harness the power of data – and play your part in keeping the country safe.

This is a chance to join a growing team that sits at the heart of the CTP network. Established in 2019, the Data and Analysis Pillar ensures that data is exploitable by the whole network against any threat. It’s a fast-evolving field with the power to transform CTP’s critical security mission. You’ll help CTP to adopt new capabilities while meeting legislative, ethical and technical obligations.

Day to day, you’ll make sure data is being used safely and compliantly by reviewing the assurance of high-profile tech programmes. You’ll also develop processes to identify and monitor assurance risks and trends; and assess the impact of remediation activities. Whatever the task, you’ll be working closely with a range of stakeholders, building awareness of your field. A champion of our Data Capability Assurance Framework, you’ll embed data compliance at the core of CTP.

With experience of assurance, auditing or inspection, you’ll have sound knowledge of data-related legislation. And while you’re passionate about the opportunities data can bring, you’re also sensitive to the ethical issues surrounding data and law enforcement. Confident navigating these challenges, you’ll be open, team-focused and collaborative – a good communicator who connects with people whatever their role or level of seniority.

Now more than ever is the time to join the Met Police. We want our team to be representative of our country and are looking to recruit people who understand and reflect the diverse communities we engage with every day.

Besides the rewarding nature of the job itself, a competitive salary and a Civil Service pension, you'll also benefit from excellent career and professional development. If you’re looking to progress, this is an outstanding opportunity.

Vetting

This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post; and must undergo Developed Vetting (DV) once in post. If you do not obtain DV once in post, you may be subject to a posting or redeployment process.

Additionally, this material is of particular sensitivity to the UK and its distribution must be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances dual nationals (of which one element is British) may also be granted access. However, in the event that potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed the post holder will not be able to see the intelligence material and will not be able to perform their duties. For the purpose of safeguarding national security and in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.

Confidentiality Agreement

Applicants should also be aware of the need to sign a confidentiality agreement on taking up the post.
