Job summary
Are you someone who enjoys handling and managing data, drawing conclusions from complex datasets and the challenge of communicating those to senior decision makers? Do you want to work with multiple stakeholders across Government to support its priority to drive further efficiencies from its property assets?
If you are adept at manipulating and analysing data, have strong problem-solving skills and want to help a small but experienced team establish a new programme, then we’d love to hear from you.
You will lead the creation of a commissioning, analysis and reporting process that will underpin the activity of the Government's property disposal programme. You will develop strong relationships with departmental property teams to ensure they provide robust and timely disposal pipeline information that conforms to the requirements you will have a hand in setting.
As part of the Disposals programme team, you will support ambitious plans to drive the release of surplus property, developing a £500m per annum pipeline of capital receipts, one of the ambitions identified in the new Government Property Strategy. Receipts from the Disposals programme will be reinvested in the estate we need to keep, improving the government property portfolio and enhancing operational delivery. You will use your analysis to help identify cross-departmental programme blockers and will get the opportunity to assist development of policy proposals that help to accelerate departmental disposal plans.
Job description
We’re looking for candidates who can demonstrate confidence in data handling, data management and reporting, and who are comfortable working with autonomy and flexibility as part of a small programme team.
You will want to develop your leadership and management skills and to be comfortable preparing and presenting information to senior leaders. You will relish the opportunity to build strong relationships across a wide range of stakeholders, identifying barriers and working together to find solutions.
Reporting to the Programme Director, your role will be to create and manage an underpinning set of data for the programme that will drive all core programme reporting activity. You will need to ensure that the programme data is robust, to be able to identify where improvements are required and to suggest appropriate solutions. You’ll be supported by a small team with a diverse range of property, policy and project management skills and link into support from data and analysis professionals within OGP.
In return, we’ll offer you a supportive environment to grow your skills and experience, with a clear portfolio of responsibilities that will support your development. We will listen to your ambitions, make best use of your experience, and encourage and support relevant professional development.
Aligned to the wider location strategy, the post holder will be based in York or Glasgow with occasional travel to OGP’s head office in London and other parts of the UK. Please discuss this with the vacancy holder if you have any queries.
