We are looking for Senior Cost and Margin Analysts to join our team. You will be part of an exciting growth time within Iceland and will support the business in delivering value for our customers. You will report into the Trading Finance Manager, within the Commercial Finance Team. You do not need to have a financial background just have a keen eye for detail, enjoy turning complex numbers into compelling actions and enjoy leading a team.

You will lead Cost and Margin Analysts to collectively provide data driven actionable insight to the Trading team, which can then be used to drive business performance. This will include supporting supplier negotiations and will have a broader focus on product cost and other drivers of margin. You will help your team navigate through changing priorities and risks, and provide excellent leadership to deliver critical support for Iceland

Key Accountabilities

  • Line management responsibility for Cost and Margin Analysts, including support and coaching as needed
  • Owning and maintaining certain pricing models that reflect the latest commodity and market conditions, such as: climate change, inflation and topical news subjects
  • Leading, conducting and sharing relevant market and supplier research and analysis using a wide range of tools and data sources
  • Working closely with Trading to ensure the insight being delivered by the team has demonstratable positive impacts on business performance
  • Reacting quickly to emerging business challenges and support the leadership team with the information needed to meet these challenges

You Will Possess The Following Skills

  • The ability to line manage a team effectively and support their development 
  • Be able to build strong relationships with stakeholders, such that you and the team are aligned to support in the right way at the right time
  • Have a collaborative approach, including an ability to work with suppliers to identify and deliver cost saving opportunities.

Your Personal Attributes

  • Previous experience leading and managing a team
  • Experience in Retail, Manufacturing or Commercial Analysis
  • An understanding of how data tools can be effectively used within a commercial environment
  • Ability to engage with Senior Stakeholders
  • An ability to get into the detail and fully understand the drivers of product cost, and how changing market conditions can impact these.
  • An ability to focus on the mid to long term in addition to dealing with the short-term priorities and pressures associated with a fast-paced FMCG environment
  • Be inquisitive
  • Have tenacity to be able to find solutions to problems.

Desirable Skills

  • The ability to use our data modelling tool effectively and ensure the data and models are always maintained.
  • Degree educated in a related subject.
