Senior Data Scientist - GBP545pd (Inside IR35) - 6 Months - Newport/Fareham/Remote Parity Group are delighted to partner with a prestigious Public Sector organisation, who are looking to recruit an experienced Data Scientist to join our clients Climate Change team on an initial 6-month contract. You will receive a competitive daily rate up to GBP545 and the contract will see you INSIDE IR35. Key Responsibilities: Working independently on scoping projects with stakeholders, presenting to portfolio board and delivering the projects Support the squad in delivering projects at the intersections of statistical models and ML, GIS and Big data. Deliver well tested and dependable code. Deliver clear code documentation Help prepare dissemination pieces such as articles, Blogs, abstracts. Lead and deliver on innovative projects in the Climate Change and Net Zero squad. Participate in stakeholder mapping and establish relations with cross government departments with similar interests. Participate in regular show and tells showcasing the work to the Campus and stakeholders.Experience required: Please note that a solid knowledge of geospatial tools and techniques alongside with strong working experience in NLP projects on a Cloud based platform is essential for the project. Experience working with satellite images, Open Street Map, Deep learning methods and Network analysis would greatly benefit the project. To actively lead and deliver on a range of projects in the Net Zero- Climate Change squad in the Data Science team. Strong hands-on experience in the following is strongly desired: Visualisation Dashboarding (high priority)- Google Data Studio Some experience in D3 and other JS visualisation libraries Geospatial visualisations with geopandas, contextily, plotly etc Data Wrangling skills (essential). Scalable data linkage approaches such as developed in Splink Modelling (essential) Statistical modelling Geospatial modelling (high priority) Machine Learning ML (high priority) Deep Learning DL Simulations Agent Based Modelling (ABM) NLP (high priority) Timeseries (high priority) Econometrics and socio-economic modelling Geospatial methods such as spatio-temporal analysis of GIS data, spatial interpolation methods such as Kriging, Network analysis (high priority) Image processing - Deep learning/Machine learning approaches for Satellite Images analysis and remote sensing methods (high priority) Data Fusion- scalable approaches for data linkage on Cloud infrastructure Experience with Github (high priority) Software Python (essential) / R (desired) / Matlab / Julia & others Version Control Cloud experience Big Query Cloud functions If this sounds like the kind of role you or someone you know would be interested in then please feel free to apply or email me directly with your CV for immediate consideration.
