Rotherham Council continues to encourage all the behaviours that we know reduces the spread of infection, in line with National Guidance.

Therefore, in line with current advice, capacity reductions remain in place in Council buildings and where possible, staff are continuing to work from home in a number of roles, with occasional requirements to attend office locations.

We are actively adopting a hybrid way of working which will include both home and office working based on service and customer needs.

Are you looking for an interesting, challenging, and pivotal role that provides development and production of highly complex data and performance information for senior leaders, which will help them provide services that keep children and their families safe, resilient and successful?

You will be part of a strong, innovative, and dynamic Performance and Data Team providing high quality business intelligence, performance management, and data analysis across all services of CYPS.

Working in collaboration with the Business Intelligence Manager, you will take a leading technical role in the development and integration of CYPS and partner performance data and management information, and in the delivery of associated data and intelligence to inform decision making, strategic planning and reporting against agreed outcomes, priorities, targets and indicators. The role includes writing complex SQL scripts to aid the preparation and presentation of reports, relating to complex performance issues, to a wide range of audiences, including external partners such as Health.

You will provide advice to Performance Officers and Analysts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality reporting and analysis service, which meets internal and national requirements, including statutory returns and inspection data requirements as per relevant inspection frameworks (e.g. Ofsted, DFE).

To be successful you will have extensive experience of working within a performance management framework in a large organisation, have practical knowledge and understanding of service improvement issues, proven experience in the development and extraction of data from databases using relevant business intelligence tools, specifically SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL, and data presentation tools such as SSRS, Visual Studio, Power BI or Business Objects. Data warehousing and data integration experience using SSMS and SSIS would be advantageous.

You will also be able to react to and manage multiple customer requests and work tasks, often with conflicting deadlines and work flexibly whilst solving problems and delivering outcomes.

For more information regarding the post please contact Anne Hawke or Cathryn Woodward.
