Computershare has an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Quality Assurance Analyst to join our Computershare Technology Services (CTS) team as part of our SCRIP Global Development division, based in Edinburgh (hybrid: part-time remote, part-time in office).

A role you will love

As the Quality Assurance Analyst, you’ll have the opportunity to assist with test planning, test analysis, test design and test execution of Computershare’s core backend system, SCRIP. SCRIP is an enormous product so there is always something to learn and a new challenge to tackle. As part of the agile development team, you’ll work in a supportive and collaborative environment while improving the quality of software being delivered to our project stakeholders.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Participating in initial requirement review meetings
  • Providing input to test plan creation and adjust plan as needed
  • Assisting in identifying test conditions that will need to be tested
  • Assisting in identifying test data requirements
  • Assisting in test estimation
  • Reviewing functional specifications and identifying requirements that need to be tested and providing feedback to Business Analysts where necessary (e.g., ambiguous requirements)
  • Designing and documenting test cases based on requirements, including preparation of all test data
  • Participating in test review processes for quality assurance of test design, test cases, and test data
  • Ensuring that planned testing meets business requirements/functional specifications
  • Providing test status reports to Test Lead, Test Manager, and Project Manager
  • Participating in improving quality testing processes
  • Assisting in rolling out QA initiatives across the team

What will you bring to the role?

You also have:

  • Minimum (3) years’ experience in a similar role, demonstrating above required skills, in a collaborative Agile working environment
  • Significant level of experience in development and execution of test suites and test plans
  • Experience in using test design techniques and of performing and applying risk analysis to identify test types and test coverage
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle, software architecture and technologies
  • Understanding of test environments, quality gateways and the route to production
  • Experience in performing Risk-based testing, Exploratory and awareness of different types of Test Techniques
  • A curious, observant, and intuitive explorer who is capable of the setup, exercise and checking of test scenarios against the system-under-test


Bonus points if you have:

  • Hands-on experience in building and/or improving automated test frameworks
  • Hands-on experience in Selenium, SpecFlow, or any other BDD Framework
  • Scripting and coding skills (C# or similar)
  • Track record of identifying opportunities for automation within software processes.
  • Experience testing in financial markets
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)/ Azure Dev Ops (ADO), or similar tools.
  • Understanding of Non-Functional testing (Performance and Security) needs for the application and coordinate with relevant teams
  • Ability to identify market trends and other forms of testing and tools to be incorporated into the existing framework
  • University Degree or similar
  • ISTQB Foundation Certification and/or any ISTQB Advanced Certifications
