Data Platform Services (DPS) within the Chief Digital and Information Officer group (CDIO) function designs, builds and operates the data foundations for all of HMRC's services at a size and scale larger than most other organisations.

DPS is leading a major transformation programme encompassing technology, capabilities and data services whilst continuing to deliver high quality and robust services to our internal and external customers.

Job description

As a Business Analyst you will be responsible for the management of change requests received by the Engagement Team from initial receipt, through the triage and impacting process through to Pre-Delivery.

You will work closely with DPS colleagues including Engagement Support, Engagement Leads, POD leads, Senior Business Analysts, Architects and Service Manager Leads to support the impacting process across DPS and support the communications with our customers.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure Change Requests meet the quality criteria for successful impacting.
  • JIRA Management including visibility of the status of incoming Change Requests.
  • Ensure Change Request triage outcomes are communicated to impactors.
  • Effective facilitation of the triage process
  • Managing DPS mailboxes
  • Clarity Management including updating and managing Clarity Project CR's, Small Changes and Work Requests.
  • Support the Statement Of Work (SOW) commercial processes including monitoring the SOW mailbox and uploading documentation to SharePoint.
  • Monitoring and reporting on internal SLAs.

Essential skills/experience:

As a Business Analyst you will possess the following:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly establish trust, credibility, network and build relationships.
  • Excellent team player who is proactive and focused on the team priorities.
  • Be able to extract data and translate into meaningful information for reporting and monitoring.
  • Strong organisational ability, accurately recording information and keeping to SLAs
  • Ability to manage multiple, conflicting priorities and delivering to deadlines
  • The ability to thrive in a fast moving, changing environment.

Desirable skills/experience:

  • Use of Jira and Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of Clarity or similar resource/project management tools.
  • Experience of leading and facilitating meetings.
  • Experience of reporting to senior level.
  • Working in a Case Management, help desk or impacting Team
  • Working within an Agile IT environment.

Team members that are moving offices as a result of the Locations Programme will be entitled to a Moves Adjustment Payment for three years where they incur additional costs. This is calculated based on the difference between the costs of travelling to and from the new and old office, over a weekly period. You will get more detail on this as part of targeted locations move communications.
