We are looking for individuals with a proven track record in development in our core technologies (Scala and Spark) and who can demonstrate knowledge or interest in data science methods. Things you will work on include:
- create design patterns for complex pipelines which create features which our data scientists can follow and use
- improve our analytical tooling to help with tasks such as statistical analysis and reporting
- develop and improve on existing/new methodologies with a focus on ease of use and re-usability
- understand common pain points on client deliveries and work to resolve these
- produce components for advanced analytics, matching, and visualisation on big data
- mentor Quantexa staff in developed tools and methodologies both through in-house training sessions, and providing quality assurance on projects
Our office is located near London Waterloo, but some work occurs on our clients' sites - mainly in central London, but there may also be opportunities for travel.
Example pieces of work include:
- Working with core R&D on Quantexa's analytical framework, providing feedback as a (scala) user, helping create the best framework for our delivery teams and clients
- Exploring functionality in MLFlow, and how this can be used to support our client's modelling requirements, as well as how it can be deployed in Quantexa's analytical framework
- Creating a framework that, on an on-going basis, assesses customers against a risk model and determines whether previously investigated customers should be re-raised for investigation
You might be a fit for this role if you have:
- able to demonstrate good software development practices
- experience in requirements gathering
- experience in data science engineering, or a mixture of data science and data engineering
- enthusiasm to learn and develop in open source technologies; if you do have experience developing on open source projects, do send us a link
- deployed big data or analytical solutions to production environments
- excellent technical skills including expert knowledge in Scala/Spark
- effective communication skills
Knowledge of at least one or more of the following will be helpful:
- experience in data science methods and techniques
- experience in Python/PySpark
- experience using Zeppelin/Jupyter Notebook
We know that just having an excellent glass door rating isn't enough, so we've moved to a brand-new WeWork office and put together a competitive package as a way of saying "thank you" for all your hard work and dedication.
We offer:
- Competitive Salary
