About The Role

We are recruiting a Reporting Analyst - a new and exciting role within our Finance Performance team. You’ll be joining a growing team at the Society, and will have the opportunity to take a lead role in driving commercial value at a critical time, both internally and externally.

You’ll be a key contributor to driving value add analyses, improve our processes and controls, and support wider teams across the Society in generating actionable insight and analyses on the critical revenue streams.

You’ll take responsibility for the following areas:

Management reporting outputs

  • Weekly Flash report: process control, ownership of data, reporting and ensuring the report content remains relevant for stakeholders
  • Performance in context.  Provide a weekly performance update on financials and product volumes, including 6 week trends, “best week” and including narrative
  • Sales funnel / productivity.  Drive the analyses of the sales funnel and productivity across the Society, benchmarking internally and where possible to external sources
  • LTV analyses.  Provide detailed balance sheet, volumes and margins across the LTV segments
  • LBE.  Build a monthly latest business estimate process, providing Finance stakeholders visibility of monthly forecast.
  • CEO Report.  Prepare inputs to the CEO report as directed; managing the process, controls and taking responsibility for the quality of the output.
  • Preparing and reviewing month end close and month end management reporting
  • Identifying areas for improvement of processes and controls
  • Documenting processes and controls and ensuring compliance with the Society’s governance frameworks
  • Participate in business meetings to share recommendations and ideas for development of new management reporting.
  • Stakeholder engagement, constantly seeking out views of users to ensure reporting framework remains fit for purpose.

You’ll be used to preparing detailed technical analysis and communicating the results to stakeholders in a simple and straight forward way. You’ll have advanced excel skills and enjoy working with others to solve complex technical challenges.

 

About You

As a qualified accountant or studying toward a qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) you’ll have experience of working in a month end environment (preferably in Financial Services).

You’ll be curious and want to understand how your role and activity fits and adds value in the context of Finance and the wider Society as a whole.  You’ll continually look for opportunities to develop both yourself and your team and look to step outside of the confines of your role in the support of colleagues and the Society.  You’ll engage honestly and constructively with your colleagues across the business to deliver great outcomes and ultimately cultivate an environment of collaboration, innovation and idea sharing.

You’ll demonstrate your capabilities through planning and organising and use of your excellent analytical ability to translate complex analysis into useable insight and clear recommendations. You’ll share your insight through your first-rate communications to enable you to meet your customer expectations and deliver results.
